Several funding opportunities are available for organizations who recognize the value of our aging U.S. population. The first funding opportunity is a grant available from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) to provide Senior Corps RSVP programs (volunteers aged 55+). Funding will be provided to projects which support older volunteers who are serving their communities meeting local needs through a diverse range of activities. Technical Assistance calls are being held this week and next. Applications are due October 11. Click here to learn more about this funding opportunity and to apply for the grant.
The second funding opportunity is being provided by LeadingAge through its Innovations Fund. $100,000 is being made available this year to groups for projects that meet the needs of lower income elderly individuals through combined housing and other services which would allow for aging in place. Specifically, proposals should match one or more area of emphasis. This grant identifies self-management and chronic care management health and wellness programs within one of those areas of emphasis. Applications are due October 30 with priority provided to applications received prior to September 30. Click here to learn more about this funding opportunity and to apply for the grant.
